White's alright really. It actually hides most dust and small scratches. Black is the problem - it shows everything, even streaks after youve washed it. A real headache. White cars age pretty well.
Awesome Mk2 BTW!
i was laughing so much when i extended it! it just kept going and going.
Got a chance to take some photos around the area today, nothing spesh but the weather was ace
Hello mate,
congratulations to the acquisition of this brilliant specimen !! I have had a white Golf Mk2 for many years and I ended up liking it that way although I wasn't a fan of white at all ! Before you change the colour, consider this : the car doesn't heat up as much in the sun and is more visible on the roads. This is just minor though. I think your car looks just great and I wouldn't change it ! I would get rid of the rust though (there hardly is any) and give it a good service. This will keep you busy for some time ! Hope you'll enjoy driving it and that it'll be a reliable companion !
I enjoyed these pics quite a bit! The car looks great, and I think white really suits it with all the black trim and the red grill border - it'll look even better with some tinting.
My 1989 four door 8v is different to yours in a few ways though. It has a different looking front skirt, obviously due to my foggies (I actually thought these were standard). And mine has a GTI badge on the front door anti-bump strip and a Wolfsburg badge between the front wheel arch and front door, things which I also thought were standard.
Oh yeah, and yours has a side indicator on the fornt fender where mine doesnt. I guess these are differences in the British delivered cars. Interesting.
