    Hey Barty,

Yes that was Louise's daily driver for ages. I have good memories of it.

I sent the ECU to the good ol' US of A to AMS (Advanced Motor Sport Solutions) and they did the upgrade. The camshaft is an Autotech 270 Hydro. I would be interested in buying that cam off you if you still have it. I also put the Euro exhaust manifold and down pipe.

With those modifications already done I'm not surprised that it went well with the 2L bottom end.

None of that helps you with your problems though. I assume that you have checked all the basics like the distributor cap, plug leads and are you still using the metal plug ends because they can cause trouble too. I have a cheaper more reliable replacement for them that I can reccommend.

I'm just using standard plug leads with rubber ends etc.. Im sure they're similar to the ones on it when I got it off Chad

In regards to the injectors fitting the head. I know that the mechanical lifter head will have been mechanical injection and your car uses electronic injectors and the injector cups are totally different, hence your problem. I think you can take the plastic cups out and get them machined/modified to take the electronic injectors or have the electronic injector cups modified to fit the head....

The injector seats just screw in with a big allen key. Not that much from VW when I bought some in the UK, a couple of quid each.
