Check the water chanels for corrossion, weld if needed.

I always skim the head too. Saves doing the job twice.

I would dump that exhaust manifold for a euro type with a twin down pipe while its off and easy to get to or some nice headers. Never have to deal with those shty C clips too. You could gain some HP thats lost in the RV motor.

16v manifold or downpipe? The downpipe would fit meaning you just need a cast manifold to complete the job.

Unfortunately the 16V manifold is different.

I am not sure if the manifold from evorobins 8v went with the engine or not. The buyer is dropping it in a mk1 I think so wouldn't be able to use it. Could be worth a PM to Robin.

after a drop off from brian patterson i was ready to go

all together but alas it doesnt start??????

timing marks are all good so i leave it not wanting to make it any worse. after a trip to wolfsburg motors and a little of yans majic lesson learnt check the distributor marks as well ( derrrr i hear you all say) it must only rotate half a turn compared to the intermediate pulley

all good now just got to sort out the crazy water leak coming from the water pump, off with the ps the ac and alternator again
