    gti mk2 i need a answer pls.

    hi i have a question will i lose power if my cat converter is stuffed ? and what is the best oil to run in 8valve gti , cheers

    I used Castrol Magnatec...think some people here use FUCHS?

    Depends what is wrong with the CAT. If the matrix inside has become loose and is now sideways in there then it may reduce your power.

    I have heard of CAT breaking up and blocking silencers, which killed the power on the car in question.

    Any branded 10-40 oil will be ok in your motor. Synthetics in my experience are too thin once warmed up and the engine just burns it.

    Castrol magnatec is a great oil mate i suggest you use that. Ive had no dramas with it. If your cat is blocked the gasses cant escape and it wont rev up pal when this is happening the cat glows lovely and red too quite a sight to see.

    thanks for the info, getting a new one put in this week, r superchips a good mod for a mk2 gti ?
