If you get bored again can you come down and do some work on my mk1

Nice work, think it needs vr6 brakes and a rollcage though

I`m a bit over long term projects so my current MO is to spend a month or so accumulating bits and getting ready. then doing a hell for leather three day build.

This keeps us focussed and makes it an achieveable goal. Also prevents all the storing parts for months and not being able to find crucial pieces.

Got a new radiator for the beast today, engine wiring is done, all the trim around the steering column is done, cupra key and clocks are in. Fuel lines are done, remember the car used to be a carby, so we used all new Mk3 gear. Could probably have had it running if I hadn`t had to leave early to pick up the kids.

    Tomorrow.........

    It is alive.
The broken wire on the coil wire slowed us down for a bit, but now she is roaring like a lion.
Still have to put the interior back in, bleed the brakes and wire up the lights and heater. Other than that, shes a goer
Sounds Great when on song, cant wait to drive it. More soon.

Upgraded the fronts from the Mk2 solid rotors to big meaty Mk3 vented disks and pads. If thats not enough, could always go cupra 280mm, but thats overkill really and then I will need bigger wheels.

Suspension is newish Bilstein shocks and standard springs. Not too worried about that at the mo, can always update later.

    Roadtested today. Hehehe
Dave got the first test drive and came back grinning.
I had a go with Mikinoz and it was pretty rapid. I think the speedo is a tad optomistic as the cupra has 16" wheels and this is running 14s. Either that or 100 comes up real quick

Put the interior back in and did the headlight wiring. Just the heater and a few other bits to sort out, then rego.
