    Gearbox wows

    Hey my mk2 Auto is feeling a bit jerky ..

    i was accelerating up a little hill and when changing from 1st to 2nd it just cut out and then picked up again

    any help ?

    Throw the auto away and put in a manual.

    Are you sure it wasnt the engine that cut out and picked up again ?

    i wish i had $$$ to get a manual

    i was driving to warringah yesterday and while getting there i was accelerating and it seems to find it hard to get into second ....

    Have you been servicing it as often as you should? if the oil is low auto's get tempremental if it is. It may even just need a good service.

    Yeah they need looking after. Some friends of mine had a mazda 323 and it would barely move due to a monster leak and no oil in it. They stuck a litre in it and it went like new again.

    havnt checked oil..but i did take it to VW for a service (ended up costing me arm and a leg)...they did a whole service about 2 months ago...

    ill check oil tomorrow and see if it needs some more.. .fingures crossed
