Blitzen, If you are getting the g60 arches and standard BBS RM', you wont get the right stance, unless you buy a 2" or 2.5" dish to go on the RMs. Backk home I have my mk2 16v, its on its belly with standard gti arches (nonG60) with standard BBS (6.5 wide-dish i think is .5") and size wise 15" is ok-ish on the mk2, but i would go 16", if not definately need to go wider.....
just my 2 cents!!!
I have the same dilemma. I bought the g60's for the front and rear wanting to get a fatter look, but i'll need some big ass spacers to make the wheels come in line. Or buy wheels with a deep dish. The fronts just sit way out from the backs.
I'm going with small bumpers to try them out and am not sure if i want the g60's arches anymore as I might op for 85 spec arches, so i maybe selling them (btw they are brand spanking new).
As Golf loon alluded to, you're better off getting wheels that fit rather then playing with spacers as you'll need pretty big ones I'd think, please correct me if I'm wrong.

to run flush with g60 arches at the front with stock mk2 gti subframe, you need about 8" wheels at et +15. that pretty much translates to a wheel with approximately 85mm from the mounting face (of the wheel to the hub), to the outer lip in terms of the rim itself, in the axial direction.
example, if a wheels had 1 inch from the mounting face to the front of the spokes in width, you'd need 2.5" of dish to be flush at g60.
if none of this makes sense to you, check out this thread

The Mk2 GTI Baby
I've seen a pic somewhere and it looked pretty odd having all the width up front but it may have been due to the lack of a wide enough wheel to fill the space.
You could always put G60 fronts on the rear as well.
It can be done with some modifications to the fender and the side skirt if you feel like some plastic fabrication work?!! :p
Heres the proof...
You would need to give me you BBS RM's and buy something wider to fill em out though!
