i think its 4 bar but the fuel regulater will drop it down...i know the perfance high pressure regs are 3.5 bar! (so i would guess the the fuel pump would pump harder and the regulater will drop it down)
Gidday.
Can anyone tell me if the mk2 GTI fuel pump for the RV engine (digifant II) is 3 bar or 4 bar??
The number of the pump is 191 906 090.

You need to consider flow, as much as pressure Wade. 4BAR to supply a 100hp motor, is a fair bit less fuel than 4BAR to run a 300hp motor.

Gavin,
Got myself an adjutable regulator, and looking at taking it from the stock 3bar to 3.5 possibly more once I add the 735i AMM. A 4 bar fuel pump is good to _____ hp?
Cheers,
James
Ok thanks.
I'm a bit unsure what to do. Do i leave the old mk2 pump setup there and feed the AMK with that? Or is it too weak and should i get the VR6 setup?
I still have the old S3 pump, and was hoping maybe i could put the actual S3 pump in the mk2 housing??? I'm really stuck???!!!

i'm running with a vr6 tank and in-tank pump at the moment. i wouldn't worry so much about a vr6 pump under-fueling, but perhaps the original digi pump might struggle a bit.
considering the injectors for the stock 8v are less than 200cc, and the tt 225 injectors ( same as AMK?) are something like 315cc, flow rate might be an issue with the stock pump.
i'd fit the vr6 pump just to be sure.
edit: dont think the s3 pump will fit in housing, never tried, who knows?

Wade, go through ETKA. See what tank is in the G60 Golf GTI PG engine code, if that has the same part number as one for a digifant Golf PB engine code. You will be game on with the VR6 pump. I broke the pump in my G60 and used a VR6 one as a replacement.
Gavin
just get it running with what you have Wade, then mess about with the pump if it isnt up to scratch.. the Std K jet will flow enough to get it idling at a bare minimum.
Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...
If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??
Cheers,
Grant...
I forgot it was Kjet, easy to get a Bosch 044 I think it is and bolt in in the same place as the original. You need that wideband so you know it hasn't gone lean. Be a shame to wreck the motor over a fuel pump.
Gavin
No my car is a 1990 GTI with digi II, NOT kjet.
I'll leave it as is and see if its leaning out.
cheers for the advice guys![]()
