    engine vibration

    Hi Guys,
have a bad engine vibration in my 16v and can't seem to work it out. Its in the motor not the body.
Anybody had something like this in their Mk 2?

    Cheers,

    Simon

check engine mounts - even if they look good make sure rubber hasn't parted from any facing plate.

    thanks for the reply.

the vibration is from the motor/GB so I have ruled out the mounts (all new)

Thinking the clutch may have thrown a spring or something a while back and this has put it out of ballance.

when driving? or is it through the pedal? or did you put stiffer mounts in?

Maybe an injector spray pattern is wrong and is causing the engine to run rough.

Is it kjet? Id take the injectors out and put em in 4 jam jars. Lift the flap in the mech injection unit and look at the spray pattern. They should all be a nice cone shape.

    Hi Guys,
    thanks for your help.
It is definatly internal, not engine mounts. The actual motor has a vibration which is much more than a normall 16v. mounts are doing a good job of softening it but it is still very bad over 6k.

Yes it is k-jet but fueling/set up is all good.

I'm going to pull the GB out next week and have a look at the clutch/fly w to see what is going on their

    Cheers..

    Hi dom,
all been checked. its not rough running its something out of ballance that spins inside the engine/GB.

Hoping its cluch plate as an easy fix
