    Doing some thinking

Since my cars in the shop, I'll probably start taking a look at what else i can do. The paints pretty ordinary but not worth a respray at the moment. Is there any good detailers or such that will remove or the scratches and grazes, also the seats are ripped in certain spots and are pretty grubby, anyone know a good upholstry place to take a look. And also the suspension is a little to low for my liking as its way to hard, otherwise is there a way to soften in up as its stiffer then my mk1. (I need it for daily not racing)

Also since im getting the diff or whatever went wrong fixed, is it ultimately worth holding onto and should i look for something else (it was suppose to replace the mk1 which is still running after a year of ownership).

I'd really like a 3 door, but thats not going to happen unless I can import.

    Cheers

Also if i cant sell the mk1 within the week when i get my mk2 back, it will be going behind my grans flat and staying put until i get my own garage to restore her (like redmk2gti's threads i was reading).

Also, if I do keep it, I'll need to make the wheels sit wider, or fatter as my g60 arches will look silly. what do i use and how?

    Patience young man.

I`ll rip the Gearbox apart tomorrow and check it out, but I reckon its the diff rivets let go.
If, so I will replace them with the bolt kit and maybe some new bearings and the box will then be better than new and will not break for a loooong time.

I also have an ealy black and grey interior for a Mk2 which is flawless if you fancy a change. You can check it out, I dont want a lot for it.

Wheels should be easy. You could even prise my Borbets off me if you were feeling rich.

I reckon a Mk2 is a better drive than a Mk1 all day, but like you say, shame there are no 2 doors!

Yeh that interior sounds all right. Is it just the seats or all the door trim as well. Borbets sound all right but im on a budget. How much do wheel spacers cost and are they hard to put on (need to adjust panels or arch wells?). Also I've got the rear G60's, (they aren't the ones on the car at the moment).
