The car looks very clean! Have fun with it!![]()
Finally got around to taking some decent photos of my Golf, so I thought I'd post it up!
It's a 1991 Mk2 GTI, travelled 160,000km, everything is stock and the interior is in pretty good nick. I bought it in November last year from Melbourne, and it sat at my parents place for a month before I could make the trip down from Sydney to pick it up. It's my first water-cooled VW, however my first VW was a '74 Beetle 1300, that now belongs to my sister.
My plans for it are to firstly to lower it using coilovers. I'd like to keep it pretty stock because of the condition its in, but would like to get some different wheels for it one day too.
Looking forward to getting into the world of water-cooled VWs.

Nice! Very clean.
Did you buy it from a bloke called Ollie?
Yep! Bought it from Ollie after seeing it on Melburg Luft.
Had an eventful weekend visiting mates in Wollongong. Battery light came on 20min from Shellharbour, kept driving because I thought I could still get to my friends place before I ran out of battery. Got there fine, then car wouldn't start when I left their place. Clutch started it, drove 5km then conked out on top of a round-a-bout overpass over the Princes Hwy. Luckily I had enough speed and clear lanes to the left to roll over to the shoulder. Thought it was the alternator, but was thankfully just the alternator belt that had broke. Its currently at my mate's place waiting on a few belts and time to do it.
Pic of it on the tow truck.

What's your name on the luft?
I just bought mine from Melbourne too. Yours looks way nice though.
Sucks about breaking down but it's a pretty easy fix.
I was 'Elbo' on Luft. I used to have a '74 Beetle, but after I sold it to my sister and got a regular car I didn't log on to the Luft for ages and last I checked I couldn't log on anymore, so I don't exist on there anymore. Maybe there's still a few newb air-cooled posts with my name next to them on there
Just checked out your thread, yours doesn't look too bad either! Like GTI's in black.
