    CV and Driveshafts

I have been experiencing grinding (from the left side of the car) during hard accelerations from 1st to 2nd gear and also clicking noise when at full lock (to right only). I had a quick look under the car and noticed some grease spraying marks although none of the rubber boots looks torn. And i also noticed something abnormal, the right side drive (longer) shaft appear to be thicker (in diameter) when compared to the left side. Is this normal?

Would like to know this before deciding to only replace CV Joints alone or complete with drive shafts (if its got the wrong shaft). Any recommendation for a local supplier for CV Joints / Driveshafts?

Do you think the sound is coming from the right inner or outer?

The drive shafts are meant to be different thicknesses

Thanks. I will find sometime to check this 2 items.

How do i check the strut top mounts? Is it by jacking up the car and lift up the wheel to see if the struts pops up?

To check the strut top mounts. Lift the bonnet. Jack it up. And as the front wheel lifts off the ground watch the top of the strut from the engine bay. If it drops considerably it's well worn. A few mm would be ok. Also try lifting the wheel when it's off the ground for a similar effect.
