    Coilovers - what's your recommendation.

    Hi all,
Probably a hundred threads on this but I just want your opinion on the best affordable coilovers for my mk2.

I saw these set of JOM - apparently made in Germany and with shipping free to Aus for just under $500.

JOM VW Golf Jetta MK2 GTI 16V Coilovers SET Adjustable Suspension Lowering KIT | eBay

Also another set from UK. Made by Pro sport - only $300 not including shipping - so I'm guessing around the same price.

I smog want to go too low as this will be my daily again, but I'd love to be able to tune the height for shows and "light track work".

I plan to fit a set of 15x6.5 BBS's once I can track a decent set.

    Any thoughts?

I have used cheap coilover and I hate it.
Now I have Weitec Hicon GT in my Mk2 and love it They aren't sub $500 stuff but you get what you pay for.

Well I don't want to sacrifice ride quality, but I'm trying to somehow balance between improving the ride and looks without going over the value of the car.
Just a quick search and found "prestige and performance" are the QLD reseller for Weitec. I've sent them off an email to check the price and availability.
May I ask here did you got your Weitecs from RedMk2Gti.
I would not even mind getting a 2nd hand set of anyone here if they have a spare set to sell?

I bought it from Awesome GTI - Volkswagen Audi Group Specialist | Awesome GTI in UK back in year 2010, it cost me < $900 landed. Unfortunately they don't sell Weitec anymore.

Have a look what PSI tuning have. Link in my sig.

I had a few Weitec kits in the UK. Std style shocks with height adjustable rears, that had a circlip for the spring seat. Really good stuff.

+1 for Weitec as they are made by KW.

We have a H&R Cupkit on ours. Dropped is around 35mm on 14 inch Steelies. Wheel arch gap is now even and bodyroll is gone

Dampening is better than stock but far from harsh

Time to start hunting for some Weitecs!
All reviews I've read seem positive.

I've had some GT's in for about 6 months now, still getting used to the stiffness.
