Car has to be minimum 30 years old.
does anyone know whether the earlier mk2 can be regoed on club rego and if so which club(s) are signing off on this?

Car has to be minimum 30 years old.
isn't it 25??
or is it different in every state?
im pretty sure any car club does it, you just have to belong to one.
yeh 25 dude, so if urs is good in 2 years? and i wanted to look into this as well cause mines 88... yet i have no clue what the hell it is or entitles me to do..
club rego imo is basically pointless.
i have a 1970 ford mustang boss 302. the previous owner had it under club rego in qld, but he was an old guy and rarely if ever drove the car.
i on the other hand, drive the car at least 2-3 times a week. plus i like the advantage of being able to get in the car whenever i like to go for a drive.
club rego in nsw basically allows u to drive it to and from the workshop, to club events and thats pretty much it. plus they have limits on the amount of kms u intend to drive.
if ur teh type of person that trailers the car to shows and is into concours events, then for sure, but that isnt me, i bought the car to drive

Club VW Sydney does club rego but your car has to be 30+ years old and as walbjj has said you are limited to club sanctioned events. Now depending on the club you join there is also a minimum membership period before they will sign off on historic rego or it's by special request. If you are into the club life you might actually get to drive your car every weekend if there is an event on you can attend, I've not noticed anything that limits the amount of KM you can do on club rego while attending events... of course your insurance company might that restriction on you depending on how the car is covered.
FYI, it's an RMS requirement on the 30 years too. Have a read through the basic requirement on their website and remember that clubs are able to add their own requirements on top. Some clubs are more lenient that others when it comes to how stock the car has to be too, if that's a path you want to go down it's worth talking to a few clubs to get an idea of what your in for.
