CHB gearbox on ABF engine- clutchproblem

    Hello

I just did a Mk2 conversion from a GTi 8v ( RV engine) to an ABF (16v) engine. I kept the old gearbox which is a CHB ( 5speed manual).

The torque output of the ABF engine is much higher than the RV engine, so I´m thinking to get a better quality clutch. I fitted the original clutch but it starts slipping at acceleration at higher rpm´s.

My question is, if somebody has done already a conversion like this and what sort of clutch and pressureplate you were installing with this package. I would be very happy if I could get some advice what I should use and where I could get it from maybe with a part# too here in australia. clutch has 24 splines/ 210mm

    Many thanks

    Stefan

Just order a heavy duty 020-spec clutch kit from the USA - VW Performance - Autotech Sport Tuning, Euro Sport Accessories, Inc - Performance and OE parts for Volkswagen and Audi, Techtonics Tuning, VW and Audi Performance Tuning and Repair Parts are all reliable suppliers.

Get a lightened flywheel at the same time and make sure you replace all the hardware, which is one-use only

    thanks mate

I found my issue, got the flywheel laithed but only the inner surface, forgott about the outer diameter as well...so the clutch had play-started to slip.

    all sorted...

    cheers stefan
