Changing Engine/Gearbox mounts

I need to change the rear engine mount and gearbox mount.
Never done it before but willing to give it a go this weekend, how hard can it be? (famous last words!).

Got a plan to put the car up on axle stands and use the jack to take the weight of the engine in order to do the swap.
I also have a manual and the interweb to help but was just wondering if anyone has any tips, do's & don'ts or any advice they want to share.

I am replacing mine in the near future also, currently waiting on a polyutheraine mount from the UK, keep us posted on how it goes.

Few DIY threads out there... with tips etc.. here is one example;

Use a lot of common sense when you do the job. Watch out for things like gear linkages when you lower the engine and box. Make sure there's lots of room for the exhaust to drop with the engine.

And try not to drop the engine on your head. It hurts like buggery.

I'll try not to don't want the missus to come home and find me with a sump shaped dent in my head. You're right though, common sense & take my time is prob best way to go.
