Bought a MK2 GTI

I've always regretted selling my MK2 and now it looks like I'm getting it back.

As she looked when I sold her in 2011.




And now.



How could I resist.

1st thing to do is get it from Brisbane. 2nd thing is tell my wife I'm buying the same car I sold 3 years ago. Then, when I get out of hospital (just joking dear), I'll start to add a few things.

I still haven't got the Golf yet but I couldn't resist this. Currently sitting in a MK1 but that will soon change.



The motor will get pulled apart to see what condition it is in and rebuilt with some headwork and sporty cams if I can afford them. It won't run injection as the plan is to convert to LPG which should make the installation a little bit easier. I know the history of the car the motor and gearbox are in and up to a year ago then they were both OK. I just need to find out what happened to them in the past year.

This motor isn't going to be an all out screamer, just some mods to spice it up a bit. Most of the work on this car will go into the suspension so I can teach other drivers how to go through corners really, really quickly.

I saw a set of BBS RS copies on Ebay- going for about $800.
From memory they were chrome with black centers 16in.
I'll see if I can find the link for you.

This isn't the ones I saw but similar. Just make sure you get the right offsets, or you'll need to roll the guards.

fully restored BBS RA193's offered as an option for the mk2 GTi's in "some countries" ( Hence why they are pretty rare!)

Would you believe the wheels currently on the car are BBS RA's. Thanks for letting me know how rare they are, I might keep them now and add some spacers to move them out.

What I really want is my car looking like this but on 16's, not 17's because it has to be a daily driver (I do over 800 k's per week).

They actually look quite good.
What size are they? Looks like 15x6?
They look so similar, but RS's are the most ideal. They are the coolest looking rim on the mk2s that's for sure!!
