Wheels don't come with the car. I can't afford a MK2 and Borbets but I'll let Luke know you're all interested in them.
I've got a set of 16's to go on, from the Seat Cupra.

I finally plucked up enough courage to tell my wife I'd bought another MK2. I told her it's for our son who's getting his licence.
Picked it up yesterday from Luke, straight on to the trailer and back home after a 13 hour drive.
Safe at home.
It's in much better condition than I expected. The paint needs some attention but the interior and trim look good and the headlining is perfect.
It came with a few spares.
And a kick ass sound system that's been sitting on the parcel tray a bit too long. Does anyone know the best way to straighten it? It's not broken, just warped.
The dash will need to be replaced some time in the future. It's a pity the uncracked dash from my white one was damaged by the axe welding maniac lunatic policeman.
It's funny but as soon as I sat in the car in Luke's driveway it felt like I had come home after being away for several years. Only another MK2 owner knows that feeling.
Thanks Luke for letting me take it off your hands. Now I just need to find out why it's not firing on all 4 cylinders then I can start using it as my daily while my son learns to drive.
It might take a few years to teach him.

And for those wondering about the auto box, 2nd is good for 120 k's and third does 160 with more to go.
Just don't ask how I know.

Took it for a quiet run (honest officer) down one of the country lanes outside town with ACDC rocking through the speakers. Absolute magic.
You really have to convince your dad to let you get one.

"I swear officer, I was just cleaning the plugs out with a good thrash", trying to convince dad to let me own anything that smells of performance is a task I'm not sure is actually doable. The mk3 will have to do until I have the funds to get one under dad's nose.

Did a couple of little things yesterday.
Fixed the drivers door so it could be unlocked (window channel was in the way of the key mechanism). Took a lot of time and 3 door handles to work out why it wasn't working.
The radio was getting poor reception so I took the adapter piece off the white MK2 so the aerial fits correctly in the back of the radio.
Interior light wasn't coming on when the drivers door was open. All the other doors worked so just needed a clean of the door trigger.
Boot light not coming on. Fixed it so well it didn't go off when the hatch was closed. Had to glue a bit of plastic on the pad that pushes the pin in so the pin goes further when closed.
Heater hose split on a plastic pipe between 2 rubber hoses. Replaced it with a metal pipe.
That's it for now, I've run out of little things to fix.
Because it doesn't have airbags it's not the safest car to take the kids to school (100 k drive) so I'll wait until the school holidays before using the MK2 to go to work every day.
Looking forward to it.
