So Ive finally had time to start some of the work to the GTI.

Things that i have done or am in the process of finishing so far are

Change out the single grille conversion and replaced with original twin headlight grille and lights = DONE
Polish up paint work to see if it needs any work = DONE - will need minor repairs
Source and fit original chrome VW badge for rear of car = DONE
Source and fit black vinyl wrap for boot surround as original had been remove = DONE
Service and Tune Up = DONE purring like a big cat
Replace rear passenger side seatbelt = Got one coming from a guy off the forum
Replace missing or damaged side skirt jack point covers = got some coming from the same guy with the seat belt
Find and install centre console = still waiting for a guy off the forum to come back to me about one he has.

Will post some pictures up later today of how she is looking now compared to before.

Im also maybe looking at replacing the interior seat if i can find some for a five door version in great condition, ive found the ones in mine seem to have been modified, the passenger side front seat is defo a drivers side one that been modified to fit and the rear split seats dont fold down correctly making me think they've been taken out of a 3 door.

Im also trying to find the clips that hold the parcel shelf to the left and right parcel shelf panels as mine are missing and have been replaced by 2 screws which is really bodgy and makes the parcel rattle constantly.

The before shot of the front, really didnt like the single light front grille it made it look less menacing.

You can also see that the paint work was very dull.

Now returned to original double head light grille looking angry and a bit of spit and polish later and she is shining like an a gem again.

    More photos to follow.

Good thing you've got a white numberplate otherwise you'd never find it in the dark.

Has it lived up to your expectations?
