What sort of aerial is it?

    Roof or mudguard?

If it is the standard mudguard aerial, it is very easy. Take out the tyre, remove the mudguard lining, just a few screw. Then you can access the nut that secure the aerial, go to any auto-parts shop to get a similar one and put it back in. I did the same 6 months ago.

If it is roof type, I can't help

I tried for months to get one from a spare parts shop and couldn't get one as the VW ones are smaller.

I may have one at home.

Can't say this will be an issue if done correctly.

I've had bee sting aerial's in all my car's incl. my mum's current mk2 & have never had rust issue's in over 10 year's & if the power supply is O.K. you should never have a reception issue either. (Note all the aerial's have been the long bee sting version)

Once the hole is drilled (without going straight through into the headliner), clean up the hole swarf & apply some paint to the bare metal, then I packed the underside of the aerial & seal with grease.

    Bingo.
