    Battery light always on

Howdy, the last few days my battery light has started coming on a lot, at first it was only when I revved over 3000rpms, now it's pretty much always on. I've got a squealing power steering belt, could this have anything to do with it? Or is my alternator buggered?

I paid around $125 to have my alternator re-conditioned. Looks brand new

Check the alternator belt is not loose.
If its ok, its probably the alternator.

Probably just the brushes on the back side of the alternator, which are easily removed by yourself with a screw driver and cost only a few dollars.

make sure your alt belt hasnt slacked off. feel how tight the other belts are compared to the alt belt.

are those brushes model specific or universal? do most auto part shops have them?

They're fairly universal, take them into any repco or bursons and they'll have what you're after.
