Well it was either red or white, no choice really.

So on to mods now, I'm thinking strip and rust the bonnet up, bbs rims and drop it on its guts...
    Don't think so!

I'll be keeping it as close to original as possible, I would like to change the mags to the original bbs that were an option. Also coil overs to lower it a tiny bit, thoughts?

    Ye, that hight looks respectable.

So should i go coilovers or lower springs?

I am leaning to coilovers a little as i can adjust the high as i please, plus id prefer a little harder ride.

Those are not the original mags thou, i would prefer the ones in the pic i posted, how hard would it be to source the originals here?

This set i think would have been nice

Also keep in mind, if your going to stick with big bumpers, the car will appear/feel even lower than a MK2 with smalls (guarantee you'll wipe out the chin spoiler!)

Do a little of your own research and decide which direction you want to go suspension wise.

Speaking from experience with my Boge lowering springs (around 35mm drop), its rough as a daily driver but very fun drive.
Piccy for referance (on 14"s though)

He originally had 15" RA's on pre lowering (unless your hiding some pics Dom?)

RA's come up for sale here every so often (I think Domel might actually be looking into selling his?).

mine with 15x6" RA's and H&R cup kit -30mm, they are stiffer and i got them dampening adjustable. of course coil-overs you have height adjustment, but can be more expensive for good ones.. depends what path you want to take.

She arrived this morning!!! Got a call from toll to say it's at the depot, I was on my way before I had a chance to hang up the phone. Got my self a day pass, picked her up and off to inspection we went. Pased no problems, inspector only mentioned the pass door handle isn't working.

So what do I think of it??
It is a little sluggish, gutless so to speak. The clutch is a shocker thou and that might be the reason it's not pushing hard.

Soo bloody exhausted, having uni erly in the morning and staying up late is not helping in any way. I'll upload more pics after I giver her a wash and get some rest.

    X/

So the weather has been ****ty for the last two days, and it isnt looking to get better any time soon. the photos will have to wait.

One of the things that pulled me toward the mk2 golf was this key

My dads mk2 had the same key and i want one. I found them very cheap on egay but need to know what profile my key is, how can i check? there is a av and a hv profile.

Also the old owner has mentioned that the owner before him fitted a heavy duty clutch, can any one point me towards this owner? he was on the forums and after searching i cant seem to find the photo of my car i saw at a qld meet.

Don't see why an Aussie MK2 would need a heavy duty clutch.

Yea that the one mate, thanks.

So after driving it for about a week, its not bad as a daily, the ac and power steering help too. One thing that is bugging me is the fuel consumption, it averages around 20.3 L/100 according to the gauge, and on high rpms it reaches 60 l/100. Is that even possible?

So what could i do to help it use less?
