    Annoying wiper problem...

My drivers side wiper keeps working it's way lower and lower to the point it actaully slid along the bonet and scratched the sh*t out of it.

I have to pull over and manually drag it up....But always not long after it is back down again getting caught on the windscreen rubber etc

I gather its the motor? I seached around but there are so many problems and topics over wipers I can't find much of use to me....

    Any ideas?

I had a few issues with my wipers before. Seemed the arms were slipping on the motor actuation.

Check the 10mm bolt that holds the arms (in the rain tray now) onto the splined shaft that is the motor's output. My splines were warn, and started to slip. Tightening the bolt (and/or repositioning of the arm) seemed to fix my problem, so it might be worth a look.

Cheers will have a look at the bolt....

If I reposition the wiper arm it just goes back to going too low again not long after.

As a temporary measure you could apply some Loctite to the splines on the motor (nail varnish is a cheap substitute) and tighten the nut. You should try to avoid overtightening as you may strip the thread in the nut.
