Hey its my MK2 GTI. My brother posted the pics up for me, cheers Richy. Its a 85 model, mars red 1.8 litre 8v. But its far from standard! I have removed the flares and side strips and colour coded the bumpers, rear spoiler and grill spoiler. I fitted a vr6 front spoiler (thanks Tim, group buy). Its has racing seats though nothing flash, i would like to upgrade to recaros. Momo race steering wheel, custom stainless gear knob and gate suround, autometer boost, oil pressure and air fuel ratio gauges. I have up graded to 256mm 16v brakes on the front though they are hardly up to the task of slowing it! Coilovers are set to the max lowering postion in the pics before scrubing. Under the bonnet is where all the hard work has been done though.
The block is 0.040" over bored and honed with arp head studs, main studs and rod bolts. Wiseco teflon coated pistons with 9.0:1 compression, carillo h-beam rods, Custom alluminuim crank pulley, lightened flywheel, knife edged crank and fully balanced to a gram. Custom made itermediate shaft from stainless tubing weighing 210 grams saving 800 grams of weight. Enlarged and baffled sump with windage tray, high volume oil pump. Extensively ported and polished head, inlet and custom exhaust manifold. 780mm by 450mm by 65mm intercooler. Custom 4" stainless plumbing for turbo inlet and air box, 2" to 3" plumbing from turbo outlet to throttle body. 16v throttle body with throttle position sensor adapted. Schrick 272 degree cam. stainless catch can. EMS engine management 8860. mitsubishi evo 5 injectors. Full stainless 3" exhaust from turbo back with one muffler. IHI VF22 high flowed turbo with larger AVO compressor wheel. I'll finish the mods list another time and post up some more pics, its getting late.

I really dont want to think about how much all the work has cost me though i have done everything myself except the tuning. The computer and all the dyno tuning has cost over 4 grand, All the rest is just parts i have done all the machining myself aswell. Gearboxs cost a bit aswell i have gone through four over the years! About 5 grand in parts... At trade price and ebay motors usa.

I have 2 mk1's, a daily driver and a twin engine twin turbo aswell the pics of it are in my gallery. I have a mk2 scirocco gti also that when finish will be hopefully one of the best around and worthy of a magazine cover. I have sunk around 15 grand into it allready and its only in undercoat...
