here are some more pics of the mk2 (sorry no rocco at the moment). we took it for dyno tuning today. it made 148.6kW at the wheels on 14psi boost, but we had spark issues, so boost was brought back to 12psi where it made 137.5kW, still with the spark problem. the spark just wasn't strong enough above 4500rpm, and it will probably need coil packs. the old engine and smaller turbo setup previously made 138.4kW at the wheels on 14psi, apparently without spark problems. it'll be a while before it gets a new ignition and a run at higher boost, but for now 137.5kW will do. enjoy!
more photos!
Good to see another VW pulling some numbers and kepping the VTECH in the mirror

What sparks you using?
I have good things about the Bosch platinums with the 4 prong tips.
just a thought..

I should explain that this tuning is just for running in the new internals aswell so the tuning is for a safe power figure with a lot more ijnition retardation than used previously. When i save up i will get 4 idividual performance coil packs mounted directly on top of the spark plugs and change the hall sensor aswell. The combustion pressures blow out the spark above 4500rpm even though the spark gap was set to 0.6mm and upon testing the coil it was found to be on the way out. The ihi vf22 turbo has its sweet spot of between 18 and 22 psi and tuner was very confident that with the ijnition sorted and running 20psi or so it will make an easy 180 plus kw at the wheels and may top 200kw at the wheels. Ill get this done before the nats i hope!
