2l bottom end 1.8 digi head.

    Hi conversion kings

A little clarification required. I'm looking at replacing my rv 1.8 bottom end with a 2e 2l bottom end ( note it had a auto box previously).

Is it simply a swap of the bottom ends over ? Or is their more to it like changing cam wheels etc.

    Tuning!
Oooh and as far as co goes, from what I've read tuning the digifant. Should the co be set to 1.8 % on a 2l, same as it is on the 1.8l ?

And will the flywheel, clutch edit from the 1.8 all fit nicely on the 2e?

I did one on a MK1 GTI years ago and the only drama was the dissy. You needed a spacer ring for it. I think you might be able to use the 2E dissy though as plugs are the same IIRC.

The ECU might be able to cope with the extra airflow and meter the fuel ok that way. Again my experience was with the MK1 and KJet, so not totally relevant to your plans.

Might be a chip available somewhere to better suit the larger capacity.

Digifant should be able use 2E dissy directly. Flywheel, clutch are all the same.

    k-jet is a bit difficult that's why I'm still haven't done this

Digi has no problem supplying the extra fuel. I've got a 2e block under a standard 1990 MK2 head with a mild cam. Fuel went from 6.0 litres per 100 k to 6.9 on my daily run to work and if I drive carefully I can get it down to 6.4.

You don't get a big HP increase with the 2.0 block but the extra torque is really nice. Hills that I had to go down to 4th are easily done in 5th now. I still have to add a euro downpipe so there should be even more performance to come.

It's well worth doing the conversion.

    Cheers

The Euro downpipe really allows the 1.8 RV to breathe and spin much better. If you're noticing the HP and trrque increase without it, it must be pretty hectic with it
