16V KR Spark Plugs - What do you use?

    Hi crew,

I'm having trouble finding spark plugs for my KR 16V in Sydney. I ran through four options with the bloke at Repco and they had none:

    NGK
    - BCP7ET
    - BKUR7ET
    - BKR7EIX

    Bosch
    - F6DTC

I then called Tooley Imports and they didn't have anything to suit the KR in stock at all. Matt at Camden GTI has two options which are platinum and iridium respectively. They will work but are going to cost $25 each. I wasn't planning to pay $100 for plugs when I'm quite satisfied with good old copper.

The other option is German Auto Parts who have the Bosch F6DTC for $3.65ea, but their freight is usually quite expensive. I wouldn't mind if I had more things to get from them, but I don't.

So ultimately I'd love to be able to get some regular copper plugs here in Sydney, but I'm not sure who to try or which other plugs might work? Any experience you guys have would be helpful.

    Thanks!

I've got the F6DTC ones in mine.. Mainly because they're are the original ones VW used. Seem pretty good.
Interested to know If anyone has experience with other types.

Where did you source them from, mate? I'd love to get some if you know of a supplier.

I think I got them from parts4vws, but it was a few years back.
I just typed Bosch F6DTC in google and a few options came up.
If nothing comes up, get order a heap of stuff from GAP (over $50) and shipping won't be so bad. Plus if you go through them you'll usually get it in less than a week.

Remember any place you get a small quantity of items, shipping will usually be pricey.

Try Brian at GTI Imports. I'm fairly certain he has them in stock.

Whilst the F6DTC is the recommended plug for the KR/PL/9A/ADL, we would advise running the F5DP0R Double Platinum, as per OE specification in the ABF. It is a far superior plug to our basic iridium F6DTC.
