Don't suppose anyone could explain the 1.8T vs VR6 thing? With my limited knowledge of engines, it's apples and oranges, both have their strengths and weaknesses... unless I'm missing something else?
Maybe it's because I saw this one first, but I've always found it the funniest -- Hitler gets banned from Xbox Live http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfkDxF2kn1I

In the states the Mk4 GTI was available with the 20V Turbo we have and also a 24v VR6 moteur like the Boro 4mo. Essentially the same car.
The 1.8T and VR6 debate has raged for eons. Basically 1.8T is faster with mods, and you'll need to spend HUGE $$$ on a VR to get it humming like a tuned 1.8T. But the VR doesn't have lag and sounds better. But 1.8T guys like turbo spool sounds better. But VR is a smoother motor with a flatter torque curve.
etc. etc.

I think its more which one is better for peak power and which one is faster .
Most powerful 1.8t is around 820ish whp and VR6 is around 860ish . Correct me if Im wrong . So there are comparisons across the board between chipped 1.8t vs VR6 with cams , 1.8t Ko4 vs VR6 stage 1 supercharger , VR6 3076 vs 1.8t 3582r etc etc . At the end of the day the 1.8t is limited by capacity and until recently the tuning/injectors available and the VR6 by the cylinder head flow . The 24V VR6 have a weaker bottom end than the 12V , but this is just rumours I hear

Either is a sweet ride and TBH I'd go either way. The VR6 does sound mad but then I love the 1.8T power delivery and hearing the turbo spool and dump.
