Whats really interesting is I'm right now on my way back from a week in Italy, and to cut a long story short, they generally drive faster than all the set speeds, and 160 in a 130 highway zone is the norm. They overtake into oncoming traffic, and that oncoming traffic actually pulls to the side to make room. It's organised chaos, and scary as hell at first, but it just seems to work so very well, and even the coppers just drive around taking a vague interest in the goings on. White lines are definately just a rough guide over there!!
It sure opened my eyes to just how over governed we are, they wouldn't stand for it in Italy, and more power to them for that.
