    WUR mods:confused:

    anyone know or know someone who can do WUR (warm up regulator) mods to mk2 golfs??

    how do you do it??

    The 16V has vacuum enrichment at full throttle as standard.

    Unless you have established that you are running weal at some point, then I doubt there's anything to be gained.

    You shouldn't mess with the control pressure unless you have the pressure gauges to see what you are doing.

    There's a few good books on Bosch fuel injections systems which are worth reading.

    Everything I've read say that the 16v runs lean up top, so maybe the later ones (including mine) have this vacuum enrichment.
    On club gti there's alot of people that get stealth engineering to do the WUR mod. They get 10-20hp more just with this mod and a good tune.

    I should get reading then

    All 16Vs had the same WUR. I hadn't clocked you were 16V I wondered if you had a Kjet 8V....

    The thing with Kjet is that the fuelling is controlled by the profile of the inside of the fuel distributer. To do what you want would really involve re-profiling that. A really tough and impractical job.

    If you tweak the WUR, inside the cap on the back is a 5mm allen bolt which can alter the control pressure. This occurs at all throttle openings, getting you a rich mixture everywhere. Not what you want.

    What you really need is a way of adding fuel only when required.

    I had an injector driver on a modded MK1, this had a vac connection to a switch and another wire to the coil so that the box could sense engine speed.

    It had trim pots for each 1000 revs from 2000 upwards IIRC.

    You then dropped a lambda probe into the collector and by subtle tweaking of the trim pots, you could get the fuelling much better. This was back in 96 but was very effective. My MK1 that wouldn't pull 120mph indicated, ran off the clock on the way home. I even lost my cheapy grille spoiler, it blew off on the A1 somewhere in Yorkshire!!

    You disconnected the cold start injector plug and connected it to the map fueller instead. Cold starting was never a problem any way.

    On a 16V the injector isn't well placed, so I would fit 2 into the bulkhead side of the inlet manifold, directed to hit the runners in pairs.
    You need to supply them with petrol obviously but that would be pretty easy to do with some spare lines and longer banjo bolts???

    The other thing you could do with is something to alter the timing as the ECU in the 16V can't be meddle with.

    I had a Racelogic VSAM on my Corrado which was really good. The PRO kit could do fuelling and ignition. I still have maps and the software somewhere.

    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

    If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    You can mess to your hearts content but you must have the gauge kit or you can't go back to your base settings which is the most important thing.

    Hit me up anytime and I'll share my knowledge, sold the MK1 in about 2000 and the C not long after. Won't take me long to get back up to speed though.
