As if someone pushing in is a problem of any significance. So he gets there half a second before you....who cares?

Is it the end of the world? Of course not and the best way to counter something like that is to let him go on his merry way, it is no big deal.

We need more patience and less confrontation on the roads.

i dont think that that is what people in here are necessarily saying...

i guess it all depends what kind of ''game'' you are playing (anyone who knows of chris howard might know what im talking about).

we're all car enthusiasts in some way or another. many many many of the folks here have at least done SOMETHING to modify their cars. some ****tard on the road in his POS 20 year old commodore, acting like a tard, is not enough to stress over for many folks on here, because they're ''playing'' on a bigger field where, quite frankly, crappy/ ignorant drivers are NOT going to ruin their hour/day/week.

today, a car in the lane next to me just stopped infront of a mattress factory, right in the middle of the lane, during clearway hours. the car beside me (behind the guy who stopped) swerved into my lane to avoid him. luckily, it was a tram lane beside me, and there were no trams, and i was able to avoid a crash. the guy who swerved into my lane, beeped the guy who had stopped, and the guy who had stopped simply threw his arms up in the air, yelled out "ahhhh **** you, c***", and walked off.

people like that are always gonna be pricks. i just feel sorry for the guy- small minded macho man, probably has no ability to travel, no cash, no hobbies in which he can sink his savings into...... as arrogant as this sounds, little pukes like that have nothing in life but their false sense of machismo, and so they milk it HARD. dont let 'em get to you.

If I'm in a rush, and some guy cut me off, on purpose and had no intention of getting anywhere quickly, just did it to piss me off, I might crack it and depending on my mood I might let it go or I might crack it a little bit more. In saying that I'm a bit older now so I can't get out and have a swing on a whim but still..

In saying that, if you have a brain and see that the person pissing you off is an old guy, you can't really do that crap, especially if you see him with a lass which is obviously his (older) wife. I wouldn't think of anything in that situation for sure. I have parents too and just think what goes around comes around, so do the right thing.

I'm Christian too and went to a catholic school, but I don't think the fact that your dad is catholic has anything to do with him pissing someone off.

My pet hate, is when you actually really are in a rush, and you cruising along in the right lane for instance and some guy just pulls across in front of you only to pull up 10km/h less than the speed limit for the rest of the journey, forcing you to slam brakes and slow right down. So you try and keep your cool and just flash the beam for a split second cause you give that common courtesy, that maybe the guy might not have a brain or realized he was doing the wrong thing (or being a **** head), or maybe he has something on his mind etc.. But then you try and over take, they do same thing in the other lane! I could honestly kill someone in that instance as I'm sure most people would. I'm a softy and don't like confrontation but some people need to respect the roads, particularly when their the ones not following the road rules!! (fast right hand lane)

Which is exactly why I don't **** around, when someones trying to go, I just let em go. if you are feeling frisky though I guess you can have a go and see what happens. But it is not recommended in Sydney or in Melbourne.. or most major cities I reckon too many psychos on the road.

Im patient and im the type that wont take crap from other wanker drivers.
Had a moron cut me off so i hit the horn on him he backs off and slows down so i pass his mazda 626,what does he do he throws an apple through my windows messed up my dash, seats door trim. When lights went red i walked down to his bomb and put his apple through his drivers window and taught him a good lesson.
Lets just say he walked home cause i still have his keys in my van
I agree what i did is wrong but he busted my fuse by throwing apples at me i couldnt just walk away from it.

LOTS of people dont deserve a license...

but, at least in this country (well, it sure seems to be the case to me), as long as you dont exceed the speed limit when you take your driver's test, then you're right as rain....

That's the attitude. People shouldn't get away with that kind of crap. Screw the 'just let it go' solution...

Thats why in NSW over 2,500 p/platers are loosing their licenses every month, we were all young and a bit cocky when we first got our licenses but this new breed of young drivers just think there's only them on the road, no regard for other road users?

I'm happy to briefly tell me story - I was about 19 (no P's - showing my age) and on my way to uni. I was late. so i was pushing my little 1.5L KA Lazer as hard as she would go. yes, i was darting into small gaps whilst overtaking, and generally about 15kmh over the limit.

somebody must have take my plates down and let the local cops know, cause sure enough next morning there was a copper waiting for me and pulled me over. he said i'd been complained about and gave me a full spray.

That, added with a good deal of experience and common sense, now has me driving very responsibly.

if you accerate up to purposefly close a gap, you gotta expect to piss someone off.

point in case, i was in the left hand lane, needing to merge to the right lane due to a parked car. I put my indicator on, am about to merge but this diesel ute, floors is from 3 carlengths back, simply so i can't get in.
I gave him a somewhat brief horning, because it was an ass-hole move with no motive.
So i let him go past, and i'm about to pull in behind him. The parked car was quickly approaching, so i go to change lanes, then completely out of the blue the ute slams his brakes on. Fortunatly i reacted quickly, slammed my brakes on, and the ABS guides my car right underneath the back of his tray, millimeters from hitting both the ute, and the parked car. My first reaction was actually to laugh, as i knew how lucky i was to not have hit anything. But then the ute didn't move for about a minute. I thought he was stuck behind a car, but turns out he had purposely slammed the brakes on so that i would run into him!!!
So i blast the horn, and he stays still for longer. He finally moves, and by this stage i'm fuming. horn is pretty much depressed for the entire street. At the next couple of lights, i get out and confront him. not to do anything violent, just to see what the f*** he was doing. The oldish guy just pretended like nothing had happened and denied everything with a smile on his face. i would have happily smashed his mirror off if i could have gotten away with it. wanker

This has nothing to do with age I'm sorry, its a cultural behaviour which is taut from parents to child and through peer pressure. I see just as many rotten middle aged drivers as I do P Platers, the P platers are easier to deal with because they are significantly more predictable...
