    New Car Choices

    Hi folks,

In the coming month Im looking at selling the A3. I love the thing but there are a few issues so it will probably be going.

I'm looking around for new options and would love to stay in the VW Group.

    My list:
    - Audi A3 8V 1.8TFSI or 2.0TDI
    - Audi Q3 2.0TFSI
    - Volkswagen Jetta 147TSI
    - Volkswagen Passat 130TDI or V6 4-Motion
    - Volkswagen Golf MK6 GTI or MK7 103TSI
    - Mercedes B250
    - VW Tiguan 155TSI

That's basically the list I have currently. I am also open to other suggestions around the $50,000 mark!

Thoughts and opinions on this list would be hugely appreciated, I'd love to hear some thoughts rather than my own

    Cheers and many thanks

    Megane R.S. GT 220 | Renault Sport

Only just released. Seen a white with black wheels at the dealer and it looked sweat. Looks great in and out with the same engine (little less power) as the RS around $45 with all the options sat nav, bi xenons, leather, sunroof, and more.

Looked at them and the 2.0TDI as well. I like them but compared to the Q3, I couldn't go for one. Are there any suspension differences in the 155TSI? I just didn't like the handling of the Tiguan's I drove that much. I know its not a small car though and I need to respect that.

I would consider but I've driven and worked on a few now, very harsh ride and the interior quality isn't up to VW standards. As an everyday its just not suitable haha.

Thanks for your suggestions though guys, valued greatly

Going to drive a 155TSI Tiguan tomorrow to see weather that would fit the bill as well.

I'd still love opinions and suggestions

Citroen DS5? Super damn awesome interior imo but could be bias. Just dont go for an EGS transmission with it as ive heard they can be pretty clunky.

If you were after small SUV perhaps LR Freelander 2? Not sure what kind of model would be available though at around $50k.

    Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV?
    BMW 125i

Out of your list i'd probably go for the A250.

The DS5's are cool and funky but resale is quite poor and I really dont like the to drive. I have worked and driven about 3 DS5's now, quality is interesting I have found.

I like the Freelanders but they aren't as good to drive as say, a Q3. A damn fine car none the less but I'd buy a Q3 over one I have to say. Still I might re look this as it been a while since Ive driven one and they have made some 2013 changes.

Alfa Giulitta is a stunner and a amazing car to drive. I owned a 147 for a while and loved it but had a few issues. What lets the Giulitta down for me a bit is its cheap interior. I guess I've been spoilt by the Audi.

I forgot about the F10 1 Series. I will add that to the list for certain!

And yes, I like the A250 a lot, just not the order waiting list

    Thanks mate!

Know these well, very well and I drive the old mans Octavia very regularly. Driven a few V6 Superbs and they are lovely cars. But that engine in the Passat just is so much nicer and that drives better also. I would get a Passat over a Superb.

    Thanks

Went and drove a Tiguan this morning and I really did enjoy the 155TSI. Was a very nice car indeed with some very nice poke. Added to the list!

Also went and drove a Freelander 2 and that wasn't near as dynamically good as the Q3 or Tiguan. And not cheap either for decent spec. So I have decided no against them.

Also have removed the A-Class off the list as the waiting list is just too long and the boot is just too small I feel. Driven a 200 CDI and a 250 and I loved them though. Hard decisions...

Still open for more opinions and suggestions

Just so you know there is no difference in the 132 and 155 tiguan other than the engine tune (can be recitifed by an ecu remap) and the 155 comes with DSG standard.

In the end it really comes down to what you want out of the car so we can give you a valid answer since your options seem to cover everything.
