in the theater room we have 3x2 meter projector, 7.1 channel sound system, sony something-or-other amp and a bunch of other crap, its the best playing wii when the person on the screen is bigger than you haha!, ohh and ive also gotta 40" LCD TV in my room lol and parents have a few 40 something inch LCD's in other lounge rooms downstairs
dom
Couldn't care less what my parents have down in the lounge room...all I know is that it's all samsung, and the stereo sounds good for movies and the TV is nice and big - oh and I helped build the floating shelves for it lol.
I've got a little Sony Hifi in my room, cost me $370 of my hard-earned back in the day and it's the strongest most powerful yet crisp hifi i've ever heard music come out of inside a house.

If we're gunna talk about bedroom shiz, I've gotta Yamaha RDX-something in mine. I'm not a massive fan of it actually, been wanting to upgrade it to an Arcam Solo but all I do is sleep in my bedroom so I doubt it'd get much use!
good thread - im after a new amp and speaker setup at the moment. wont upgrade from the 1080p 50 inch Samsung Plasma until I can get the same in OLED (yes that's different to the current LED TVs). Current home theatre setup is a Sony 5.1 1000w job so not ideal.
But what I was thinking for my amp upgrade was a Yamaha. Probably the RX-V1900. Although open to other people's suggestions around the $2500 mark. Not sure about speakers though. Regarding speakers, what do people think about B&W?
Of course, I could dream...

Brassneck!! Great Pixies tune - those days were very good
I had the pleasure of (finally) seeing Ian Brown a few years ago and it was great! even though after the stone roses he got a bit blah
I've also got some early hardcore on vinyl (88 - 92) type stuff i will never let me vinyl go and i'm sure you feel the same
oh yeah , since were metion home cinema i have a 50' panasonic plasma, with ps3. i wasnt a fan of plasma becuase of the close up display crappyness and image burn. though im quite chuffed with this one, it looks fantastic from all angles no matter how close or far you are.not only that but some online loonies decided to sit a still image on it for 7 continuous days to see if the image would burn in, and it didnt do anything at all detramental. ps3 yeah well the only reason i got it was for ff series and gt series, of which niether of the full copys have been released yet :( dont get me started on the complete lack of rpg's for the ps. :(
why have 10 speakers when you only need two !!!
surround sound is just an illusion to the ears and a big money maker for the corporate factories dishing out cheap and nasty speakers !
Yeah but you can do surround sound ok with 5 cheap speakers... To do it well with two they need to be good...
