meh, it was okay to watch as a time-waster until the uk top gear came on.

it was pretty tiresome viewing, though, the way that the presenters had to (under pain of celebrity death, apparently) insult one another each and every time they addressed each other... i've never heard the words biscuit / pretzel / pineapple / monkey / wombat / other foodstuffs & animals so many times in such a short period of time.

i dont think it's any great loss.

the question is, how much has our international reputation been destroyed by these fools?

Chanel 9 would have been better to just contract Mighty Car Mods for the australian version.

Some cash happy investors who shelled out for the franchise rights to this (smart move by TopGear UK to cash in) won't be too happy. Re-launch of TopGear Australia in 6-12 months bound to happen. Again.

Given the journey has been gone from (Government funded) SBS to (Private equity) Chan 9, so whos next, Channel 31 community TV?

The problem is that they seem to think that they have to damage cars. That and they MUST have a comediam, no matter how bad.

If they do re-launch it, then they need to keep in mind what the program actually is about. It is not about damaging cars, or making jokes you hear behind the bike sheds, or about getting guests who are just as bad and simply make things worse. No wonder advertisers want to stay away and car companies do not want to provide vehicles for review. I mean, given the way they treat the cars, can you imagine any of the major car companies offering anything for review?

    HOORAY!!!

Finally this international embarrassment is dead. Watched one episode and that was more than enough for me. They tried to be exactly like the UK version but failed, no humor, wooden delivery, challenges were pointless, etc etc.

^ x2, the difference with the US Top Gear actually being a success is that they have not tried to emulate the UK Top Gear like the Australian one did, the US version makes for an enjoyable program that is different when compared to the UK while the aus one was just disappointing
