What do you think does this seem fair ? T5 fuse layout .

Well VW again never cease to amaze me with their callous treatment of their customers and the money we spend , yes I know some of you will be put off by my rant but this one is up there with the way we were treated last year with our failed auto . I put in a request through VW Customer care a simple question , why is there no fuse layout chart inside the fuse box or for that matter even in the 451 page owners book !!! . Well a simple reply with as much tack as a bull in a china shop ,I asked for an explanation and this what I received
Further to my email below, I have been advised by our Technical Department that this is not information that we have readily available to us.
You may be able to obtain this information from the erWin section of our website (https://erwin.volkswagen.de/erwin/showHome.do). This website provides vehicle specifications for external interested parties.
In order to access this website, you will need to register your details and a small fee will apply.

So VW did not supply a fuse layout chart but they expect me to PAY for the information WTF gives , they can produce a 451 page booklet to reduce the risk to VW of someone suing them for not doing things by the book so to speak . But a simple fuse layout chart is not supplied . The owners book tells you that due to continuing development of this vehicle at this time of the book being printed no fuse layout is available . Ummm lets see T5 released around 2004 we are at 2013 so are we to assume they have completely changed every single fuse position from the 2004 to the 2010 model . No I don't think so I will admit that the difference between a base model and a top model would include dozens of more circuits and can bus but to trot out some codswollop that due to development they leave it out is a load of crap . If they put fuse position charts in both our previous T5's one from 2004 and second 2005 then why not the 2010 onwards , but wait there is more the book also tells us that if a fuse was to blow you can take your car to the nearest VW dealer who will replace it for you so the dealer knows which fuse goes where and they obviously have an up to date layout . So why don't VW send owners a chart after the supposed "development" time has passed . Maybe I should go for a drive out into the country and replace a fuse with a blown one and get them to send the Roadside assist to fix it at their cost . END OF RANT now someone pass me the Tylenol . Oh last thing I know this sounds petty but its the principal you pay upwards of $40000 to $70000 for a vehicle and they treat you like this pay pay pay .

    Agree.
A fuse layout should be standard/included with the vehicle. What if you are stuck 200+ km from the nearest dealer, and a fuse blows?

My point exactly IN2 VWS I am just so p(*&d off at their response , lets face it as we all know planning for any new model and any subsequent upgrades takes years before implementation so the excuse "Continuing Development" won't cut it with me . I have given them a spray on their Facebook Page again as I believe they should not be selling a van with out complete information on what is normally a DIY process fuses are after all a no brainer job , yes I would concede that a fuse may blow for an unknown reason but what if its something that owner want's to do like remove a fuse to carry out some work on that part . The comment I made on their Facebook page maybe worth trying lets see I,ll drive out to the back of Bourke and remove a fuse and replace it with a blown one then get Roadside assist to come out and fix it . I wonder how many times I could do that to them before they WAKE UP .

I'm confused a bit. Are these fuse diagrams in the above post accurate or note? Can you use them Sunny43.5?

If they aren't accurate, I will remove them. The last thing I want is to confuse some one, just to fuel his frustration.

    T5GP is different.

For what it's worth, get on EBay, and buy Etka 4.2. Just make sure yor computer's hard drive has around 40GB of space.

Thanks Transporter it will help but I would need to verify , and yes I do remember that posting from some time ago , but my point still stands why not supply the fuse locations are we supposed to carry a lap top with wi fi access just in case a fuse blows . And thanks Umai but I do not see why I should pay for the information if VW charge you $40.000 plus for a van then it should / no must include the fuse layout card . I work on just about every model car there is from a cheap Chinese Great Wall right through to a Rolls Royce and they have fuse locations either marked on the fuse box lid or on a chart that's part of the fuse box itself or in the owners manual why should VW be the ones who want to be different are they deliberately making work for themselves as there are those who would run to a dealer as its written in their manual . I will not be a lemming any more .
