It will be interesting to see, yes. To be fair, I actually find my dealer (Chatswood Classic Cars) to be good, friendly, and helpful. To a large extent their hands are tied by VWA, so when she's talking of changing dealers mindsets to what VW is all about, I think she's painting them all with a broad brush. Anyway, better customer service can only be a good thing!

Just reading down, is it a typo that the Golf R is supposed to be a replacement for the Golf R36.. R36!? I thought the golf maxed out at the R32, and the Passat the R36?

In other observations, by the time they decide on the 'rocco it's going to be out of date at the rate they're going.

Yes, I reckon it is a typo, as the Golf is an R32, & the Passat is the R36.

    I have 2 Mk6 Golfs now, so I couldn't justify a "Rocco or a 2.0 R could I?

Not unitl I get to drive them anyway.

They keep crapping on about the Scirocco plagiarising sales while in the same breath are talking about increasing volumes.

I don't buy VW Australia's crap about the 'rocco. However, they are determined not to bring it, so we'll never see it, I'm afraid.

“And you can only sell them one of your cars – Golf GTI, Golf R, Scirocco. And that market is not so huge in Australia, and we want to make sure we don’t have too many units.

Perhaps if the Scirocco was for sale here it would make a dent into the other models figures but they wont know until they try. Some people may like a two door and also a four door in the same family. When the multivan is no longer necessary for the family I wouldn't mind moving into the 2 door and still having the Golf.

thats exactly when we will get it. A quick special edition at the end of its life to help VW clear their parts bins before a replacement model comes along.

I'd rather buy a 'rocco then a Golf R. Still its good to see VW doing something about the woeful customer service I keep hearing about.

I agree, but I have been thinking that the TT might be the problem. I might be reading too much into it, but it seems to me that VW seems to be trying not to tread on Audi's toes. Another example is the reported 188kW Golf R not the 199kW in Europe. S3??

I hope my recent customer satisfaction survey helped them to decide to pull their finger out. I wasn't even told by my dealer about the free 1000km check up and it was far too late by the time I discovered I was entitled to it. Also still not happy that despite the $2500 dealer delivery fee they couldn't even be f**cked putting a coat of polish on it.

I have no beef against VWA but some dealers really do suck ass.

As someone else has mentioned, I've only had good experiences with my dealer, and I mean good. They've always been courteous, helpful and the best part is they actually try to solve any problem you might have. And they normally succeed! On the contrary, I know where VWA can start.

It's great that the new MD has recognised that without good customer service, VW will struggle with sales and people may opt for another similar priced car even though it may not be European. At the end of the day; there'll be no VW (or any other company for that matter) if there are no customers.
