    Warranty Conditions

Hey Guys, after some advice or if anyone has had this experience. I just recently bought a 2011 Jetta and it was advertised in carsales as having extended warranty to 2017. The extended warranty is covered by Inchcape (original dealer was denlo) and when I went to have the warranty details changed, I was politely shown the T&C's and it showed me that the warranty was not transferrable to any new owner of the car. So that puts me in a situation of what do I do? Do I go back to the seller and seek compensation or can I take it up anywhere? i.e. VW Australia? I don't know why I didn't check the policy of the warranty which in hindsight what I should have done, because it obviously would have affected the sale.

Unfortunately your only come back will be against the seller, which if private will be almost impossible; if dealer then maybe some chance.

As it's an after market warranty then VW won't act on it. A lot of these policies have similar clauses so one to watch out for.

I despise Denlo and Inchcape. I'd rather fillet my foreskin and perforate my scrotum than ever buy another car from them.

I'd try and get the agreed premium you paid the original owner for the extended warranty back from the original owner and investigate an Allianz extended warranty.
