Warning About Scoopons - South Aus

Just thought I'd post a quick warning about a scoopon I got recently, just so others are aware.

One of the hand car washes that have scoopons regularly - Spectre on West Tce - are seriously hard to deal with. I bought a scoopon for two full washes back in July. I went in on Wednesday to get a wash and the guy told me it was going to be a 4 hour wait! He said I could ring up and book, so I did and next available booking was Dec 27!!! I'm not even joking

Anyway, I forced my way and he did wash it for me within the hour. But just be warned, if you're thinking of picking up a scoopon for a hand wash (there is one up at the moment actually) they are seriously hard to redeem.

The ones here in Melbourne aren't hard to redeem but kinda do a shoddy job of it. For example, they miss parts of panels, do a crap job of the wheels and when the coupon states in the interior is cleaned/wiped down, its either a shoddy job there or not done at all (one guy's excuse was "the rich people don't like us to clean the interiors so we don't unless they ask for it"). These places commonly use the semi automated process to speed up production but believe me, if you stand around looking at how your cars being dragged into the guide rails, most cars if not aligned properly will "hop" on the rear end where the rail hits your rear wheel on the inner surface (surely that can't be healthy for the car and must take a heck of a lot of force for the car to jump). So all in all, a big warning to all!!! If you have to get it washed at one of these places, get it done at the shopping centre ones where everything is by hand!!! I get mine washed at magic-hand car wash and have never had a problem with them.

If it's any consolation, mine was actually washed very well and the interior thoroughly detailed, so at least that was good. It's also a fully manual washing process - no conveyer belts - so that was a plus too. I had researched the facility before buying the scoopon, it was just the customer service that was woeful...
