    VW's on the Telly

Thought we could have a combined thread for all the ones we spot on tv adverts etc.

Allianz (apparently has a deal with VW for insurance) has lady and her kid with an air-filled balloon car.
It deflates and they pump it back up.
Turns out it is a Touareg

Also saw the new touareg advert and was thinking WTF!
That is rediculous and it doesn't even show any capability of the car.
VW Aus ads suck hard compared ot the ones from EU.

If you look closely in that ad my Multivan and Costas R36 are in it as well.

    Yeah a couple of things.

Campbells Real Stock TVC most recently.

And will be in the next season of Packed to the Rafters as well.

More correctly, Allianz has a deal with many (most?) dealers to offer "drive away" bonuses to the dealers. Some dealers will pass this on to the buyer as a discount just so that they can move cars and meet their sales targets.

A colleague of mine ordered a Subaru Forester to be delivered in mid September. He received a call today wanting to know if he was prepared to take delivery before the end of the month. As a sweetener, a few hundred dollars of accessories and extras was thrown in at no cost.

Even when I picked my Caddy up today, I was told that June is a big month (probably the biggest) for car sales. Now it is a case of trying to meet sales targets for July, so you can get good deals.

Back to Allianz. The reason why they are prepared to offer huge discounts (many times the cost of a CTP policy) is that they know that a very large percentage of buyers will not bother switching to another CTP insurer in 12 months. We re inherently lazy on things like this.

By the way, this does not mean that Allianz are necessarily good or bad. Many insurance companies have used this tactic to gain market share.

GF was watching winners and losers last night (don't ask me why)
I walked past and spotted a Green Mk1 cabrio? and a red polo across the street out of focus.
