    VW Welcome Pack

    Hi Guys,

What did you receive after purchasing your car? I wanted to register for YouVW on the Volkswagen website, however I need my Owner ID. I haven't received anything from VW since purchasing the car.

    Thanks,

    Daryl

    Haha..

I did receive some kind of booklet which I never read but attached was the plastic card with an owner ID on it. Admittedly I have no idea what I did with it though..

I got some photo deal where you get a free shoot but then have to pay for the photos (i thought that was how it worked anyway?)

Your owner id can be provided by a dealership or by waiting for your VW mag as it has it on the front.
Basically nothing happens on it though so no point.

    This.
I get mine once every 3 months.
Has an update about cars that we already know about (i.e. scirocco R coming when we heard about it 6 months before)
Also has some fluff piece about how great my VW is from some random reader.

It really baffles me that VW doesn't have a more engaging owner program. Its been a long established brand that trades on its name heavily and there are countless stories of entire families growing up on VW.

When you look at how something as simple as this forum draws people together and promotes the brand off our own back, imagine the marketing power a proper VW owner program could have. Buying one VW is great, but buying another one is better and buying your kids one better again. make people feel included and part of the marquee and they won't want to leave.

I know I feel a bit guilty when I see a Japanese car and think "oh that looks nice" haha

Mazda was quite good at after market service. Few weeks after I bought my SP23 the Mazda head office called to see how well the whole experience went, I mentioned to her that all I was missing was a Mazda Keyring and she offered to send me on...and it was a pretty decent 'Zoom Zoom' one.
Would be nice if VW did something similar.
