Would be nice if VW did something similar.
I think that boils down to the dealers though.. I got numerous follow up phone calls, Xmas cards, the usual stuff.

For what it's worth Mazda also did this on my previous car as well, but it was all dealer driven rather than HQ.

However, that isn't to say I don't think VW couldn't lift their game in this regard, particularly as they price themselves as a (slightly) premium brand here,

VW will give you a keyring and a bottle opener apparently if you buy a GTI.
They are probably also likely to offer you something if you buy off the showroom floor and don't drive a hard bargain.

They could offer some sort of buyer/owner group thing but to be honest why would they.
It would leave them open to possible litigation and liability when they can use other forums as a proxy now and not have to worry about it.

I got a bottle of wine and 2 VW wine glasses. They took a picture of us with the car then sent us a copy in a nice card. Both keys had key rings and tank was full.

maybe i should start the conversation with every dealer stating that I'm expecting a nice VW jacket and a centre console bottle opener or this deal is never going to happen

    VW Welcome Pack

Wife got flowers, bottle of champers and travel mug.

I got the usual welcome pack, two key rings, jacket, travel rug some other bits and pieces, iPod MDI cablex2.

    Magazine etc comes regularly

Got the one year gift in the form of a $1200 photo session (which I sold).

At both services they have left oil fillup and windscreen washer bottles in the boot, even though I've never used either.

actually...when we bought the Fabia we DID get a bottle of wine, AND a HUGE bunch of flowers, AND a SKODA Umbrella, AND a key ring. The owners kit came in the mail, in a lovely presentation box with our Owner ID and Road Assistance Card.

Once again, I think the majority of that was dealer driven.

You did buy from dealer stock though.

I think if you do a factory order or get a less premium model (i.e. not an RS or a GTI/R) they tend to skimp.
