Well, yesterday was fun - great weather which was a tad lucky (given Sunday weather)
The course was very well run, military precision, on time, well structured, flowed well
The instructors were friendly, professional, knowledgeable and motivational
Looking forward to Wednesday, Evolution using Scirocco R

Spotted... a heap of Golfs! And a bunch of "driven only by grandma" Scirocco Rs hehe. Two courses at Eastern Creek Monday, Progression and Evolution. Carpark:
Track:
I did the Evolution this time, was on the same track as the Progression last year, the Progression this year goes around the back part of the circuit. Did some very quick laps and some not so quick turns into turn 2 (that was a pain trying to get right, instructors always wanted me out wider than I naturally want to do). Was a great afternoon actually, instructors our group of 4 (per 2 cars) had were both great fun guys. The Progression course was with Golf7 Highlines, not Gti's though. We didn't have any Golf Rs, just the Scirroco R.
Lots of smoking brakes come the pit stops after the laps by the 2nd group too!
This is pooled first runs (2 full laps + in/out) and 2nd (4 full laps + in/out), took it from the telemetry file that comes with the video they record of us... see I was getting quicker through turn 1, but as a result, slower through turn 2 (just not using enough brake and going in too hot), almost ended up in the grass once...

The Scirocco was awesome
It's an impressive drive for sure
Hit 194kmph down the straight
In the Golf 7 I was pulling .8~.9 G in the corners
In the Scirocco I was pulling up to 1.1 G in the corners
(Pulled 1.3 G once but that was a stuff up, too fast into a corner, when the car gained bite and finally rotated I got a 1.3 peek, ugly)

It'll always be Eastern Creek!:p
Been there many times - IIRC, SMP now has a few configurations of the circuit, tony's data does not look like the typical 'tadpole' I'm used to. I can't post motec that I have for comparison, but it looks like the data is missing a corner or two.
