Important. do other new Golf R's have same problem?
    I doubt it.
I suspect problem is in wiring loom.
Either a faulty connection, or else a cable connector not
    inserted correctly.
I know this is not related to vehicles. However as Chief engineer of a large medical imaging company I was
requested to solve a CT Scanner problem. (In this area, not my expertise)The computer diagnostics kept
saying problem was in a particular area. This area tested correct. Finally I decided
to have all cable connection's and PCB'S socket connection's rechecked and cleaned.
    This cleared the problem.
Why a problem in first case? Maintenance staff relying on computer diagnostic and not looking further!
    You are exactly right.
If the ICC has been replaced twice and it won't load the program how is a new program going to solve the issue.
If it was a problem with the program all vehicles would be having issues.

Not that it will solve your issue, the root cause of the ICC system doing this is wiring damage.

    A client had this issue.

    The fix list;
    - New Engine Module
    - New CAN Gateway
    - New Central Conv/Elec Module

    Didn't fix it.

    What fixed it?

The car wiring loom was changed. It took a month and the car was not the same. More problems eventuated due to things not being put back properly by inexperienced idiots.

Get rid of the car via your solicitor as faulty. Get a refund and get a new one elsewhere.

    Thanks for the info.
If it was that easy I would and I wouldn't have to be on the internet posting stuff.
I think a new solicitor may be on the cards.

This is worrying for me. My Wolfie wagon is due in less than two weeks. I am coming from a BMW 1 series I have had for 5 years. Customer service was excellent. Car was faultless as well. There was always a post service call to check I was happy.

What is the problem with the actual car? Your not very clear on it. It is very rare to have problems in the wiring looms on these vehicles and they are generally clearly identified, as the majority of wiring to control modules is just power, earth, CAN and outputs. So in most cases of a wiring issue it will be either no communication or no function at all.

Interior command centre takes anywhere from 4-8 mins to come on every morning - screen is blank and nothing will make it come on - no reset techniques, nothing.
When the screen does eventually come on I have no satnav (function not supported appears on the screen) and no phone connection.
14 weeks and no one can fix it - I have been told to sit back and just wait until they call - and they have no idea of when that will be.

The car I refer to had 30+ VCDS errors. It was bad.
