If you read the article they have plenty of diesel powered cars planned, just are dropping the diesel Yeti due to sales. I guess the majority of Yeti owners are town dwellers who want a suburban mini SUV and a petrol engine is fine. Makes sense as it's not a serious 4x4, and only a few of us blokes have nuts big enough to feel comfortable in a small oddball SUV.

Weird.

The Tiguan sales are predominantly diesel but maybe the petrol yeti has a good price point and a diesel puts it up into tiguan range?

Yeah it's pretty close at $34-5 plus, and the Tig is a much more refined car overall, albeit a bit more girlie.

I thought they had withdrawn the old diesels due to lack of supply of the emission compliant ones used in the new Tiguan.

The final agreed U.S. 'fix' approved by EPA and fed prosecutors are to be finalised by the 28th, then actual work (buybacks and modifications) will commence.
I guess VW lawyers will have the time then to deal with the rest of their markets.

Holy crap batman!

Just read that they've pulled all diesel models from sale in the US as a result of this.

I've got a diesel Tiguan being built in the plant right now for delivery in November - hope it doesn't get caught up in the fallout from all this!
