And false facts as well. Industry minimum warranty periods? Ummm warranty periods are completely voluntary as far as i am aware. Last i heard was VW's standard warranty is a 2 year, which VW Aus through the kindness in it's heart extends to 3 years.

Please list all the manufacturers that provide more than 3 years. Not many is there?
And, please advise how you know this inside knowledge of VW durability.

Until there is some clarity no one will know what the impact will be or even begin to think of what comes next.

False facts are an oxymoron. It's either fact, or not.

Not sure about your assertion re: warranty periods, but one thing I do know is that no commercial entity does ANYTHING through the "kindness of it's heart". There's ALWAYS a return on investment, be it financially or otherwise.

It can be a fact in one persons mind, but not true. Or i could have just said some people are dribbling ****.

Sarcasm falls flat on the internet doesn't it? Pretty much if they didn't offer a three year warranty, you could assume sales would take a big hit.

Received an e-mail from Skoda Aus. stating that our '14 125kw Superb 4x4 is fitted with the EA189 engine and has the offending software. No surprise, will have to wait till the smoke clears.

    Very clever.

It's all a waiting game from here, this will take a long time to resolve.

That's the difference between fact and perception.
