    Volkswagen Driving Experience 2013

Well got a joyful email from vw I have been waiting for weeks...

    I have listed below...

    Dear Chris,

We are excited to announce that Volkswagen Driving Experience is back in 2013 and tickets will go on sale Tuesday, 23 April.

There will be 2 courses available in 2013; the Progression Course for confident drivers wishing to learn more and for those that have previously completed the Progression Course, there is the Evolution Course which is designed to elevate a driver's skills from reactionary to proactive.

This year Volkswagen Driving Experience will be held at:

Sydney: Sydney Motorsport Park 3 - 5 June
Brisbane: Lakeside Park 31 July - 2 August
Melbourne: Phillip Island Circuit 2 - 5 September

We will send you an email with more information on Tuesday, 23 April when tickets are on sale. As with previous years, tickets are expected to sell out quickly - we recommend booking early.

    Your Volkswagen Team

You will notice, not many days, only week days ... No weekends...

Only two courses, no golf gti's, no golf R

New golfs for middle course but not Gti,s and scirocco for top course

First you stop he Melbourne motor show, no service from dealers, and no this...

I love you vw one minute and hate you next...

    Now I hate you vw....

I find it hilarious that each time they organise one of these it gets worse value for money.

The first one was free and I enjoyed it but we couldn't get the GTI's over around 120 in the Brisbane Course.
We were asked to provide feedback and they asked if we would consider paying for the service, most of the entries i saw handed in said it was good but not worth $100 or more.

Then it became pay for a drive in a GTI and a Scirocco/R
Now it has become pay for a drive in a 118/90TSI and you still don't get to experience what driving with ESP off and TC off.

Don't mean to rub it in, but I'm going to the Wolfsburg headquarters in June and they have several "driving experiences". I'll be sure to let you know what it's like!

    VW Disappointment Experience

Well I'm pretty disappointed actually. Not only have they cut the Golf GTI and R but they have also cut Adelaide and Perth (not sure whether anyone else noticed that minor fact).

So do they now expect us to travel to another city just to have the VW Driving Experience?

I understand that it's a model change-over year and driving the Roc R is probably not such a bad thing, however it appears to be a move backwards rather than forwards in terms of the whole VW driving experience. Especially for all of us that don't live on the East Coast!

I've been waiting for this email since January - so excited when I saw it in my inbox.... and then the excitement turned to major disappointment as I read its content. I was totally shattered when I read that I was going miss out - even before the tickets go on sale.

    I got no email!

But, had a blast doing the day at Philip Island a couple of years ago when there were only R's & GTI's to choose from! Was well worth the cost. Had too many sandwiches, though...

    Did you register for 2013?

Yes I had a great time last year running around Mallala in the GTI & R. It must be that the marketing budget has been cut and so they've decided to lop off the SA/WA part of the VW driving experience circuit

I think with the numbers of people wanting to do the course they'll have no problems filling the spots available. Though I did not they've lopped off the entry level course as I'm sure they had less takers for this one.

I actually don't have too much of a problem with them having the new Golf 7 models for the Progression course. I think a lot of people would be happy to have a drive of one of these mew Golfs and 80% of this course is the skills which realistically is the same irrespective of the car you're driving. Yes it might be nice to drive the GTI and R for the laps, but you're there primarily to learn some skills and then hopefully to put some of it into practise with a few laps at the very end.

The Scirocco R is still being run in the Evolution course so even though you won't get the AWD there's probably still enough for most to have enough fun.

I guess you guys up in Brissy get spoilt with your monthly happy laps sessions

No, didn't register... I seemed to automatically get an email the last 3 years though. Sorry to hear people not on the eastern sea board seemingly not a high enough priority, though...

Seems a rip to charge people to go around in base golfs. I just got a letter to attend a drive day with the mk7 at Baskerville raceway in Hobart for free.
