Well I went to VW Driving Experience at Mallala (Adelaide) today.

A couple of showers early in the day cleared and it turned out to be a fantastic afternoon at the track.

Format was similar to last years, however small change was in the lapping where 2 cars followed the instructor car.

Here's the video of the Golf R - just a bit of a shame half the shot is of the dash

Anyway had a great day with some good company, great weather and some fabulous cars. What more could you want?

Tip for anyone going to the event later this year: If you want to get the most out of your laps make sure the other person driving in your group is of similar standard/lap speed so that the instructor will keep the speed up to/at your driving ability. I made sure the guy in the car in front wasn't going to slow me down and I had a great time

Went on the Volkswagen Driving Experience this morning at Mt Cotton (Brisbane).
What an event, had an absolute blast!!!

For me the highlight was defiantly the Golf R!

It can turn an average driver into an awesome driver!!!

What an absolute animal of a car.

The event was really well run and the experience of the instructors was second to none!

    Back again next year!!!

I was in at the dealers yesterday and asked them the same question and they didn't know.

It may well be stuffed up due to the launch of the Mk7.5 Golf not being until August/September as well as the Scirocco R being discontinued.

They won't want people driving the "old" cars when the new ones are here - especially when some of the events will likely be after the launch. And no use running the Scirocco R either as they're currently in run-out.

So I'm guessing it may not happen this year, however I'd love to be proven wrong.

Your best bet is to register your interest on the VW Driving Experience website. That way if the event does go ahead you'll get an email telling you all the details and how to get your hands on tickets.

The website (volkswagendrivingexperience.com.au) is extremely broken. Not only are the CSS and images no-shows, but the Register Your Interest url reveals this pearler:

"We are excited to announce that Volkswagen Driving Experience is back in 2013 and tickets will go on sale Tuesday, 23 April."

Using https appears to render okay, but their cert has expired (23 March 2017 at 1:58 PM). Going in via YouVW still makes reference to the 2015 experience, with links to register your interest for 2016. Doesn't bode well.

Mmm Whoever is in charge of VWA's online communication etc needs to re assess the fact that with near 50000 sales p.a and a loyal customer base, that just puting a few posts on facebook (to which people with bad experinces just tag their rants onto), and a new website, is not cutting the mustard.

Ar per above posts, yeah the website is that broken it should be withdrawn, an the your vw website & login seems rather out of date to me. And the VW magazine seems to be a bit unorganised too.

as per tigger73 said, it must be the launch of the new golf that has stuffed it up, as well as the end of the scirroco.
although if they substitute a passat 206 for the scirroco, that would be a good boost for 206 sales i think
