My brother moved from qld and just had to transfer details over and didn't need to get a RWC
just wondering if i transfer rego from tassy into VIC rego if i have to get a RWC?
I want personal experience as on the vicroads website as long as the car is already in my name i just need to provide details on the car. like engine/vin number ect... colour.
Also rang vicroads and they said same thing...... BUT
Sister in law moved from NT a few years ago, and they had to get a RWC on there car to get it swapped, and also one of there friends had same problem a few months ago.
Its not a biggy if i have too, just means i gotta fix a few things and swap seats ect for the RWC
Cheers

As far as I know, any transfer of rego requires a RWC. Although there are a few exceptions which are listed on the website. personally, I would just cancel the tassie rego and get a RWC and vic rego, shouldn't be too hard.
because its already in tas rego in my name, i should just be able to swap to vic plates without rwc... thats what i was told on phone and on website..... getting mixed stories

Friend of mine moved from Tas to Vic about a month back.
You dont need a RWC but you will have to play $630 for Vic rego plus plates.
