    Velostar turbo

I saw the price yesterday but didn't realise that was it, there is no premium model they all come with the goodies, going put some serious heat on the Focus, Clio, Polo Gti as well probably kill the 86 dead in the water.

Also will be the beginning of serious Hyundai modding...

After seeing a few of these on the road recently I dont really think the true market leaders in the hot hatch market will have much to worry about.
It may have all the specs to back it up but I cant help but think the styling department went just a bit over the top with it. Seriously looks ridiculous from some angles.
I have also never met a Hyundai that was the sum of its parts. Good in theory but just not that nice to drive when compared to the market leaders. The initial reviews of the car seem to suggest a similar finding in this instance.

We have an i30 Wagen at work. Luckily I never have to drive it off the airport. It's not a nice experience, they are cheap and if you must have a new car for little money, it would be acceptable. I have driven much better 10 year old Passats.

Can't comment on the Velostar, though I wonder how much i30 is underneath.

Agreed with the above, for me the styling looks as though they took the front from a Citroen DS3 and the back half from a Citroen C4 Coupe.

I think it will be pretty bland at best to drive. I'm guessing it will be hard on the understeer. You can even hear the understeer in the intro of the video in the post from candyman.

For me, a quirky vehicle has to feel quirky but at least imo this looks quirky but very bland in other departments.

I would still buy a DS3 Sport or a Polo GTI over this anyday.

Does it have a 0-100 time associated with it?

It's interesting the official 0-100 is 7.9s but he is a full second less. This has P plater mods written all over it. Unless the 86 gets a turbo, it really won't get a look in as they are using an old name there but the lackluster engine and weight will push people this way. Not the same class but the same budget.

If it was 35k I'd say keep trying but at 32k in reality driveaway it's seriously cheaper and in range for the typical Mazda 3 crowd which is big $ here. Rumors of an r spec coming as well which at worst would still be cheaper than a GTi. Remember this is v1 when the other companies have had lots of time, all it will take is a rally team and some mods to kill axle tramp and a few yrs it could well be something. Will it sell more than the 10k more cars it's aiming for? You bet, too many goodies to ignore and most ppl won't drive like the guy in the vid to notice the issues. They are also offering matte paint something that you don't see anyday. Will be interesting to watch what happens.
