Did I by any chance mention that i really hate UPS...???
I placed an order with JDL last friday (12/09) and the guys shipped straight away. Top guys at JDL.
I paid for Express Shipping and the shipping was great till it hit Australia.
It took 3-4 days for the package to get to Australia, which made it wednesday 17/09 at 5am. That morning I called UPS and made sure I paid for the Duties & GST and was told that the package will be delivered on thursday the 18/09.
Well, guess what... The package is still in melbourne. Still scanned as being in there warehouse. It has been released by customs.
So, it takes UPS to get the package from Europe to AU 3-4 days, but it take Australian UPS 4-5 days to get it from melbourne to adelaide. F*ck you Useless Postal Service.
On thursday and friday when I called the UPS call centre, all I got from the Indian ladies that spoke very little english is that I should wait and check online tracking. I kept asking is theres a delivery date, their response was to keep tracking the package online. Even after I spoke to the supervisor, same s*it. My shipment is still in melbourne.
I even offered to drive over there and pick it up, but apparently thats not a destination city and no pickup allowed.
So all in all, I WILL NEVER EVER USE UPS AGAIN, even if I have to pay extra. At least I never had issues with FedEx.
My little rant for the weekend and my shipment is still over there.
Never get in the way of Avdo and mods for his R.

UPS suck big time. You always get hit with customs and if you miss a delivery you have to drive to their depot on Mars to collect it.

+1. This is definitely a side of Avdo I haven't seen before.
I have had only one experience with UPS, and that was in 2006, when I bought my one and only purchase from ECS Tuning. I paid a ridiculous shipping fee of US$72.55 on a US$34.95 brake caliper piston retractor tool kit, which I needed at the time. I received the item in a matter of days, but I would have been even happier to wait a week or two and pay far less for shipping.
I know Avdo is a person who likes to receive his purchases quickly, and doesn't mind paying a premium price for this privilege, but when when your expedited delivery gets held up for no logical reason, it's disappointing, to say the least.
I recently had a fantastic experience with FedEx, whose customer service call centre is in Australia, and they were able to expedite a delivery which was going to sit in their Alexandria NSW international depot for a week. They passed the item to Austpost for eParcel delivery, which I received in 2 days. This was a service I hadn't specifically paid for, but their Australian operations were happy to help me.
Mikey,
impatience is my middle name
I just had a check on the tracking info and the shipment just left Melbourne. They had the whole weekend to get it to adelaide, but apparently thats too hard. Seriously, how hard is it.
I used FedEx from USA to Adelaide, cost me about half of what the UPS charge and the shipment was here in 3 days. The package was about the same size and weight. By the time package hit AU it was already cleared by customs (I had to pay duties) and there was no hold up.
To sum it up, F**k Useless Parcel Service, I'll use FedEx from now on.
